Who Do We Trust to Regulate the New Doomsday Technology? CEOs Sound the Alarm on AI Gone Wild
Mark Hayes (00:01.518)
All right, ladies and gentlemen, welcome back. Two men in black and white and honest conversation. And today we are joined by our special guest correspondent, Hervé Francois. Hervé. There you go. There you go. We've elevated you. the check is in the mail. Let's get right into it though. We're talking about doomsday. and overnight, the human species could cease to exist as we know it.
Herve Francois (00:11.137)
I like corresponding. I like corresponding. More feeding somewhere.
Mark Hayes (00:31.318)
the AI boom is run amuck, led us astray, got us all bamboozled. And you know, here's the funny part is we expect 90-year-old Chuck Grassley to come up with some answers. It ain't happening. Some of these guys can't log into their email. Donald Trump, Donald Trump, you know, can't check the box.
On a frickin' computer screen, much less fucking work a mouse or tell us what AI does. folks, we are in trouble. Brock, where should we begin? With the regulation, the flat out, flat out, shut it down, or do we let it continue to run amok until we are no longer here?
Brock Ganeles (01:22.868)
So I don't trust any of the CEOs involved in AI. I think cause they're cause they're incentivized because we're in a capitalist system, so they're incentivized to push their companies forward for profitability first and foremost. So we're now also externally pressuring or they're getting whistleblower commentary from within their own ranks that are raising concerns.
Mark Hayes (01:29.09)
Why?
Mark Hayes (01:42.519)
Okay.
Brock Ganeles (01:52.596)
That their technology has run amok and can be extremely dangerous or just an ex existential threat to humanity alone. But I don't necessarily trust the people in charge to put the regulations in place. I just don't see first of all, these tech bros are kind of crazy. So I don't think they look at humanity the same way. We've seen that from Musk and the Palantir guys and Peter Thiel.
Mark Hayes (02:06.518)
Mm.
Brock Ganeles (02:19.603)
Some of them are religious fanatics, other of them are just, you know, so deep into the technology that they're they're kinda comfortable with the machines running shit around here. So I'm wary of them as people in charge of this out of control technology. And of course I worry that the incentive, you know, make up of our system pushes them in the wrong direction. In Irve, you know.
Mark Hayes (02:24.472)
Sure.
Brock Ganeles (02:47.677)
I never believe in self-regulation because having worked on Wall Street where we all were supposed to self-regulate and have our own commissions that keep an eye on each other doesn't really work. And the risk officers never really mitigate the risk. And we don't fix shit till it blows up and it's in pieces on the floor, and then we try to rebuild it. So I think there needs to be significant external regulation.
Mark Hayes (02:50.668)
Yeah.
Brock Ganeles (03:16.573)
on what's going on in AI, but I don't see a political environment or a leadership that's gonna be willing to do that. Your thoughts?
Herve Francois (03:24.77)
I I would I would thank you. I would say a couple of things. Always a pleasure to be back on the show. It's always a pleasure to see you guys. So thank you very much.
Mark Hayes (03:30.604)
Revolution.
Herve Francois (03:31.67)
Yeah. I would I would I listen, Brock, I hear what you're saying. I'm gonna take a little bit of the other side of what you are saying because you know when you look when you kinda look back, you know, in the history and everything else like that, particularly, you know, companies, you know, that put out a product or a service that is not too good, not healthy, not safe enough for our general public, the CEO rarely comes out and says anything.
think. It's not until years down the road that
we found out five, ten, fifteen years ago that yes, this product was bad and now all of a sudden because of people who died, people got sick and so on and so forth, right? Then you have Congress intervening and so on and so forth, and then this company is brought forth in front of the Senate, you know, committees and things like that, and they gotta pay a big settlement and everything else like that. It happened in the tobacco industry, right? It's happened in the freaking healthcare industry like crazy. None of the CEOs of tobacco companies or healthcare companies
Come out after they put out a product and say, Hold on, pump the brakes, don't smoke anymore, don't take this healthcare drug anymore. It's bad for you, right? People die first, people get sick first, in large numbers, and then someone throws up a red flag, hopefully a whistleblower from inside, and says, Wait, hold on, this is bad. But by that time they've come out and said that, whistleblower or company.
Mark Hayes (04:44.61)
Good one.
Herve Francois (05:06.677)
People have already died. We have something different going on here where it's not the users of AI, be it individual or corporate, or Congress, because they haven't made up their minds yet, coming out and saying, hey, hold on with this thing. This is the CEOs coming out and saying it.
This is the CEOs coming out and saying, as I was mentioning to you early, one of them, the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman himself, saying that we are pausing our IPO this year. An IPO that we know every investment banker would have lined up to do it the same way they had lined up to do Elon's IPO earlier this year and every space Space X and everything else like that. They would have lined up for SpaceX for open AI the same way they
Lined up for SpaceX revenues and earnings for investment banks in the second quarter, blue expectations because of the SpaceX IPO, all the fees. Same thing would have happened in the fourth quarter if OpenAI would have done their IPO and fees. My point is that the CEOs are coming out and saying, we have a problem here. Okay? And
They could have waited until that problem really, really hits us front and center to say, there's a problem. But they're trying to come out before the problem gets worse. The problem exists today, it can get worse. They're trying to come and pump the brakes right now and say, wait a minute, there's a problem. Case in point: Facebook is 22 years old. Instagram is 16 years old. It is only today.
That Facebook has to settle $18 billion because they got called in front of the Senate and they said what you have been doing for the 22 years has been killing children.
Herve Francois (07:04.329)
And you guys knew what you were doing. You knew the product that you were putting out there. You knew it was gonna seep into the brains of these preteens and everything else like that. The statistics that have been out there, sixty to seventy percent of teenagers on these social media apps suffer from depression. Twenty-two years it took for a settlement to take place. We can't wait twenty-two years to make a statement about AI.
Mark Hayes (07:23.412)
so
Mark Hayes (07:29.356)
Well, okay. So for the novice in the room, what's different about AI than other social media? You know, a lot of folks are if they don't even understand what AI is capable of, even though AI is at your checkout counter in the grocery store, AI is driving these cars, right? Soon AI is gonna be running the economy and doing at soon AI is already doing surgeries. So, you know, what's the
difference here and what's the fear for Joe and Mary Beer can.
Herve Francois (08:00.308)
The difference is Facebook and Instagram, as they were around for the past sixteen and twenty-two years, they were being they were able to be controlled by the engineers and the CEOs running those companies.
They could wake up every day and say, today we're gonna put this in front of Brock's kids and Irve's kids and Mark's kids. We're gonna do this and we're gonna do that. They were in control the entire time. You never paid one penny subscription for any of those social media apps that you didn't have to, because they owned your brain. Your brain was a product. With AI, what they're telling you is we, the CEOs and engineers, we are losing control. We are not in control.
And if we don't put guardrails, if we don't put defenses up to curtail how fast this thing is going, then no one is gonna be able to control it. Now, Rock, I hear what you're saying. We don't trust CEOs, we don't trust Congress, and so on and so forth.
Who's should police this? I don't know, man. I don't, I really don't know. Flip a coin. Both of them should police it. I don't trust Congress any more than I trust the CEOs to control putting guardrails on AI. Because I don't believe the politicians know the depth of what's going on as much as the CEOs of AI do. This all comes down to, Trump told you a long time ago.
Mark Hayes (09:34.006)
Yeah. Do they care, Brock?
Herve Francois (09:39.692)
Hey man, what are your limitations as the president of the United States? And his response was quote unquote, my limitations are as far as my morals take me. So of course the next question is what if you don't have any morals? Right? And that's the thing with these CEOs of these AI companies. How what what what are your limitations? And I think they're realizing.
Mark Hayes (09:57.399)
Well
Herve Francois (10:09.355)
Guys, we are not in control right here. You said taking over the cars. This is it's a perfect analogy. It is taking over cars, and you can't control the driving that car. When you are running Facebook and Instagram, you could control being in the driver's seat of the car. With this AI stuff, you are not in the driver's seat. You're not in the driver's seat. So go for it.
Mark Hayes (10:31.586)
Hey, check check this out, gents. just just from the last couple of days, dire warnings say AI might kill all humans. But how? Inside the snowballing conversations at AI companies about a doomsday. Exclusive Sam Altman addresses AI doomsday fears in a new interview. The debate where is the kill switch? AI doomsday warnings.
Trigger calls to regulate. The sky is falling. The sky is falling. Rock, what what why should why should we pay attention now?
Brock Ganeles (11:06.079)
Well, we see we see where AI can go run amok, right? And we kinda first got the I kinda first caught wind of it is when we bombed that school in Iran and then the chatter was that it was an AI selected target. And you see how easy it is for mistakes to be made. Not that humans don't make errors as well, where
Mark Hayes (11:28.782)
Mm-hmm.
Brock Ganeles (11:32.128)
The machine, if you're gonna turn over your target selection to the machine, well who's to say the machine's gonna stop at bombing a s one school in Iran. It could just start carpet bombing all kinds of targets until there's no bombs left. I still don't know how it's gonna how we're necessarily gonna it's it's gonna kill us. I mean I've read some stories on how it's gonna make creating biochemical type of
Mark Hayes (11:43.117)
Right.
Mark Hayes (11:49.037)
Right.
Herve Francois (11:54.561)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (12:00.17)
But
Brock Ganeles (12:00.873)
warheads and you know, com it make it much more easier for s a human being who's crazy to get their hands on information that they shouldn't be able to get and make, you know, creating like chemical weaponry and the like or corrupting food sources and the like much easier. I see I I kind of feel like that's what they're talking about when they're talking about how AI is gonna destroy humanity. Cause it still needs to
Mark Hayes (12:19.83)
Like.
Mark Hayes (12:26.392)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (12:28.661)
put in place something in the real world to kill us, right?
Mark Hayes (12:31.99)
Right, right.
Brock Ganeles (12:34.079)
I mean, I just hate the fact that we're game theorying this. Partially because hold on, partially because it's a distraction from us fighting fascism that we only have 60 days to do something important on. Yet this is bigger and scarier to the point where if we don't keep an eye on this, who gives a shit what politics are in place if we're all gonna die soon. So I don't know which to worry about first.
Herve Francois (12:34.079)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (12:38.763)
Well th that's exact that's
Mark Hayes (12:39.16)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (12:59.936)
Yeah.
Yeah. The the politics is what you need to worry about more than this AI thing. I do believe there needs to be some regulation. Again, like I said again, flip a coin, is it the CEOs, is it Congress, is it a little bit of both, or a third party? I don't know. I really don't know.
Brock Ganeles (13:18.311)
Is there an agency that can be created with people smart enough to put who can who can oversee the development that's going on and maybe stress test new applications before they're rolled out? As I'm saying it, I'm I don't even believe my own words. But I'm thinking that like I don't well
Mark Hayes (13:35.306)
no.
Herve Francois (13:36.725)
Yeah, it's like another government agency.
Mark Hayes (13:40.056)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (13:40.977)
If not a government agency who? Is it is it just are are you just otherwise you're telling me that the future of civilization depends on the moral code of Sam Altman?
Herve Francois (13:42.401)
They're gonna have they're gonna have the employees take four testosterone shots.
Mark Hayes (13:55.972)
Ugh. That ain't cool.
Herve Francois (13:56.502)
Well, well, listen, I'm not gonna I'm not gonna I'm not gonna go ahead to the extreme that this thing is gonna wipe out the human race or the lady that came out last week and said 10% of the human race. I'm not even gonna jump on that bandwagon. She apparently was at both open AI and then anthropic and then she quit. So how it's gonna kill 10% of the population, I am not going to Armageddon with this thing right now. I'm not. Other people are fine, but I'm I'm not going there. but I do think, once again, controls, and it's things that have happened earlier that.
Brock Ganeles (14:19.455)
Okay.
Mark Hayes (14:20.664)
Okay.
Herve Francois (14:26.475)
Year, Mark, that suggests that this thing is we that we don't have control. We told it, we told it to do something and it did not listen to us. It continued, they said, invite the CEOs of the banks to the White House. We need to tell, we need to ask them to have AI run through their firewalls and see any kind of weaknesses within their firewalls that could be hacked by a rogue agency.
role government whatever it might be and and and they did so and and and the thing is they they every bank the f firewalls were broken into with the with with a particular ai code and then some right and then it goes ahead and it goes ahead and hacks into the firewalls of another bank it's doing things that it's not being instructed to do it's yeah it's using code
Mark Hayes (15:21.494)
Ooh.
Herve Francois (15:25.035)
from another d engineer to go ahead and circumvent the instructions from a human. And I'm just giving you the kind of case based the level case of it. It's much deeper than that.
Brock Ganeles (15:38.976)
Let me ask you guys a question. Does it concern you that all these AI fucking geniuses running these companies for the most part are white guys that are developing programs that are probably inherently biased? And now those programs are building on top of themselves and on top of themselves. And the outcomes of AI are gonna be detrimental to people of color.
Mark Hayes (16:04.962)
That just happened last week. That story broke. There were, I forget the name of the company, but the program, the AI program, kicked aside like seven hundred thousand applicants of color. So for for job applications. So these were all applicants that were applying for jobs. And matter of fact, I think I saved the I think I saved the article. But it's it's it's already happening.
Herve Francois (16:19.339)
For what? Applying for what?
Mark Hayes (16:34.124)
We know that the algorithms on Instagram and Facebook are inherently racist. Right? Zuckerberg doesn't want to look at pretty African American women, right? Remember his whole Face Smash thing. That's how the whole thing started. Who who he thought was hot. Right? Right? We didn't see any black girls up there at Harvard in Face Smash. Right? So, you know, it's it's it's happening.
Herve Francois (16:34.144)
Okay.
Herve Francois (16:50.271)
Right. Yeah. Yeah.
Herve Francois (16:57.983)
No. Yeah.
Mark Hayes (17:02.056)
As we speak, and of course it's going to happen, especially when you talk about the money it's supposed to generate. There's what are they saying? AI is gonna create more millionaires in five years than dot com did in 20. So you know they don't want brown people getting their hands in that cookie jar.
Herve Francois (17:17.153)
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Herve Francois (17:22.005)
Yeah, no, it's it's there's inherently because it's excuse me, because it's me man created, Brock, there's going to be inherent biases in this thing, right? By gender, by race, even maybe by religion and so on and so forth. There will be inherent bias by it and w which a lot of it will be out of our control.
You you you listen, like anything else, you know, people crap on social media but it's it's it at the end of the day it comes down to the user, right? And Facebook and Instagram they would have never gotten as profitable as they have gotten had it not been for excuse me, the teenagers.
And young millennials in their 20s. They would have never gotten that problem because the adults can c curtail themselves on the usage of social media apps. We use it a lot, but nowhere near to the level of the teenagers too. And now these guys had to come out this year and they say, Yes, we know that we put out a product.
That was detrimental to the mental health of teenagers around the world for 22 years. And they didn't say a word about it. And they didn't, and in 22 years, you've got kids' serious depression, and then on top of that, suicides as well. So, so so this is the you know, no tobacco companies knew that nicotine was addictive. They knew it.
Mark Hayes (18:53.58)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (19:01.833)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (19:04.073)
And they saddle, right?
Brock Ganeles (19:04.299)
And the oil and the oil companies knew climate change was real fifty years ago and they suppressed it any way they could. No, you you made a good point. You may yeah, you may made a good point. Let l if you don't mind. Let's let's subject jump a little 'cause you're new back we haven't talked to you in a good six weeks or so, so I'm curious your opinion on some topics we've been talking about recently. Number one is do you consider are you concerned that your vote is gonna be suppressed
Mark Hayes (19:04.532)
Right.
Herve Francois (19:10.109)
Right. And GM killed and TM killed the electric car.
Brock Ganeles (19:33.745)
And or have you been talking in your own family andor friend group about different strategies to make sure not only you gonna be able to get to the poll be registered, get to a polling place, have your vote counted, is that a topic of conversation in any circles that you're in?
Herve Francois (19:52.704)
It is a topic of conversation. I am I I am a little concerned. I'm not very concerned.
For the past several years I've been voting by mail here in New Jersey. and I have to admit, you know, New Jersey and particularly the county that I live in, I mean it is a very, very efficient, streamlined process, easy process. There's never been a problem. I don't know the pay pay for postage stamps, they give you self-addressed, you know, stamped envelopes and everything else like that. You sign, you check the box on who you want to vote for, as well as, you know, down party lines and things like that. So never had a problem. I don't
i suspect there to be that there was going to be a problem in New Jersey for
Brock Ganeles (20:34.453)
So wait, so you will vo you will vote by mail this year?
Herve Francois (20:37.821)
I I I will vote as of today, I will vote by mail unless
And I hear issues taking place here in the state of New Jersey that could really, really bring up some serious concerns for me. Right now, in regards to the postal office, listen, if I'm not gonna if if it's it if i i i if the ballot's not gonna be delivered to me in the mail, then I'm gonna have to go in person. It is what it is. So I have no problem going in person. I've gone in person before. It seems like that is kind of a lot of the argument. I heard a federal judge just blocked, you know, Trump again on no w
Brock Ganeles (20:55.198)
Okay.
Herve Francois (21:15.115)
We're still gonna go through with sending out the ballots. I think he wants ballots, you know, to be that are delivered by mail to be signed by you and you gotta show ID and all this other crap and everything else like that. Seems like it's a little too late and everything else like that. This is supposed to be something done by Congress and more important than states anyway. The president, I don't even know why the Supreme Court c can even try to hear this thing. It's already in the damn constitution. So all that being said, now obviously if I'm a resident of another state, I think it is it was it Missouri is going through it right now, where there's some confusion.
Brock Ganeles (21:37.083)
Okay.
Herve Francois (21:44.948)
Confusion as whether or not they're gonna have the mail on ballots or not, or if you've got to sign off on that. If I'm a resident of Missouri, yeah, most likely I'm gonna go in line. Have I been talking to family and friends about what are they going to do? You know, for example, here in New Jersey, you know, it's 50-50. I know folks that go to the ballots, I think they just like the the what what that means to them, having to go in person to go ahead and and exercise their right to vote, stay in line, and everything else like that. I think they kind of like that process. I do it for a matter of efficiency, I know people who do the
mail and vote and and so on and so forth. Senior citizens certainly mail in ballots and things like that as well as people that are sick and and so on and so forth. But yeah, you know other people have come to me and like I'm gonna make sure I get to the ballots early and
Brock Ganeles (22:22.258)
Okay.
Brock Ganeles (22:28.009)
Yeah, I'm I'm I would I'm one of those other people. I I'm not trusting the mail in. I'm gonna go and make sure I go in person 'cause I don't want I don't want sad, but I don't crut trust I mean I don't trust the postal service to actually count my ballot and not just like throw it out, find it in the garbage bin on November fourth or whatever, in the garbage bin behind you know, USPS. So that so I'm one of those people that's worried.
Herve Francois (22:34.741)
Yeah. And I the the other thing I should say.
Herve Francois (22:40.982)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (22:44.767)
Yeah. I I
Herve Francois (22:52.511)
I can also I can also drop off my ballot at my local township where I will go to vote. And it's not a mailbox, it's a kind of a drop box for ballots.
Brock Ganeles (23:03.954)
Mm-hmm. Okay.
Herve Francois (23:04.585)
So I have the option, you know, kind of a thing. Look, I don't think the postal workers are would be the ones messing with the mail and ballots. I don't I don't put it on them, but I I would not be surprised if they are confused about any new laws that are put out there. And then they're like, what do we do? Yes.
Brock Ganeles (23:23.593)
Yeah. Intentionally confused. Yeah, intentionally confused. So like everyone's so confused and nothing happens. Okay. That's interesting answer. Surprising, not necessarily me where me and Mark's heads are at come election day right now. Certainly in Georgia I don't wanna speak for you, Mark, but in Georgia I don't think you have the same trust of anything around you.
Herve Francois (23:31.049)
Yeah. Yeah.
Herve Francois (23:37.545)
Yeah. Yeah.
Herve Francois (23:42.474)
Georgia. Yeah. Not Georgia. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Never in Georgia. I mean Georgia, you you in Georgia shit you can't bring someone a bottle of freaking water. Stanley go the fuck? Get out of here. Letting me So bring a Gatorade instead. Bring a Gatorade.
Mark Hayes (23:44.822)
None whatsoever. Absolutely not.
Brock Ganeles (23:51.912)
Exactly. okay, the next question is maybe next question next question is sort of the the what the white guy to to two black men and a white guy. Are e are either you guys on top of the scenario that's going on with the rapper Macklore, the white rapper McLamore, and his involvement in Ed Sheeran's concert.
Mark Hayes (23:55.586)
This is illegal. This is illegal.
Mark Hayes (24:19.355)
no, I missed that.
Brock Ganeles (24:20.145)
Okay, so McLamore as of today has been removed from being the warm-up act for Ed Sheeran, who's on a concert tour, stadium tour here in the US. At MetLife Stadium, McLemore got up and gave a speech, a free Palestine speech, before he opened his set. That rankled a lot of the attendees. it was controversial, it was intentionally controversial.
Herve Francois (24:20.705)
Yeah, that's it, but
Herve Francois (24:41.541)
Mm.
Herve Francois (24:49.665)
Sure.
Brock Ganeles (24:50.185)
Robert Kraft has stepped in. He was upset by it and basically said that Ed Sheeran would not be welcome at Gillette Stadium unless he got rid unless he dumped Macklemore. And that he was speaking for all the NFL stadiums that would no longer welcome Ed Sheeran if he kept Macklemore as his opening act. So this is very much an anti-Semitism, free Palestine, free speech issue.
Herve Francois (24:59.84)
Mm.
Mark Hayes (25:01.128)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (25:03.465)
Mm.
Herve Francois (25:13.801)
Mm.
Brock Ganeles (25:19.965)
White guy topic and I wonder your guy's opinion on McLemore being removed for his free Palestine comments. Mark or everybody who wants to take it first?
Mark Hayes (25:31.917)
I think it's ridiculous I think it's ridiculous. I I I really do. I think that artists just like everyone else should have the same right to expression and their feelings. Now, if they misread the room and their fans don't like it, well their fans can choose not to buy their their their album and not to patronize their products. But you know, what's wrong with that sentiment? I mean, we
look, we gotta stop looking at people in in in different boxes. We gotta start looking at people as human beings. you know, it's basically ethnic cleansing is what's happening over there. And, you know, the fact that this air, you know, most people again don't understand that we're talking about a strip of of land, what, the size of Manhattan? I mean, it's not big at all. And yet.
We're doing everything we can to wipe these people off the face of the planet. What do the Palestinians do? Right? To to people can't tell you. Right? People can't tell you. So I I mean, look, it's like asses and elbows, right? Everybody has an opinion. But, you know, are those impi opinions informed? And do you know why you're booing his his stance?
Do you understand the issue that is taking place right now? And most people don't, bruh. If you if we walk down the street and did a man on the street interview, right? Most people can't do simple division math and and geography, right? Most people can't tell you the five great lakes, right? Right. Lake America, make a make a make make a make a lake great again.
Herve Francois (27:21.195)
Lake America. Lake America.
Herve Francois (27:26.762)
Okay, great, good.
Mark Hayes (27:27.554)
How how in the hell are they gonna tell us what the conflict in the Middle East is about? This thing has been going on long before we got here, will be going on long after we're gone. So I just think, you know, everybody has a right to their opinion. you know, and and and it's it's a very similar kind of ish i issue that we have here in America when it comes to
Black and white. Right? Most people can't tell you how it started, outside of the US, you know, and now here in the US we're trying to erase it from the history books because we don't want to talk about it. So it's very similar to me.
Herve Francois (28:10.143)
Yeah. Yeah. I mean listen.
I I I I heard I heard the story, Brock. I did not hear thank you for enlightening me because I did not hear that Robert Kraft came out and said, Hey, listen, you're not gonna be able to perform at the stadium nor any other NFL stadium, which I don't think he has the power to do so. I think it's very similar, unfortunately, Colin Kaepernick taking a knee and the NFL owners going ahead and blacklisting him for the rest of his career and everything else like that, just to bring attention to, you know, police brutality that was taking place in neighborhoods across and and and so on and so forth. I I it always strikes me in this country how
quit woo hoo with I mean a a a incredible, incredible speed and passion and commitment of how
People in this country are quick, quick, quick, quick to go ahead and denounce anti-Semitism in any kind of shape or form. Understandably and righteously so. Anti-Semitism, not good. But at the same time, they don't do the same when they see hate against another group of people across our country, across our campuses, in the workforce, and so on and so forth. Let's let's be very, very clear.
Mark Hayes (29:21.89)
Talk to him. Talk to him, Reverend.
Herve Francois (29:27.619)
Not only Jewish folks in this country that have been experiencing hate and violence. Let's be freaking clear. Muslims have been experiencing hate and violence. Where's the groundswell of support of anti-Muslim hate? Right? Where's the groundswell of support when you hear about
black women in Mississippi getting hung by trees and things like that. Am I not supposed to talk about that at if I'm a if if I'm performing at a concert? So why do we draw the line only on because I'm telling you right now, if McMore was up on stage performing at Gillette Stadium in Boston where the Patriots play, and he said, Hey, we gotta be out there supporting the Jews. They've been mistreated for so many years in this country.
Robert Kraft wouldn't have had a damn problem with that statement by Mac Lamor, right? And you know what? Robert Kraft shouldn't have a problem with that statement from Mac Lamor. And he shouldn't be threatening to ban MacLeam from playing at the Patriots Stadium or any other stadium in the NFL if Mac Lamore can go ahead. But why can't I do both? Why can't I preach against anti-Semitism as well as preach against
Hate against Muslims.
Mark Hayes (30:49.995)
Is Kraft Jewish?
Herve Francois (30:50.335)
The genocide against Palestinians. by the way, Mr. Kraft, over the weekend or late last week, I don't know if you saw, but the countries of France, England, and Canada have all decided to stop trading with Israel because they said what they are doing is conducting genocide. Three countries, big ass countries.
Mark Hayes (31:10.072)
Boom.
Mark Hayes (31:18.082)
Big countries.
Herve Francois (31:18.805)
Western European countries came out and said, we will not trade with you no more. With all the shit that they're going through in their own countries, economy is hurting and the crap that they got to deal with Trump, Carney has to go up in a box ring with Trump and everything else like that. They came out and said, We're not gonna trade with Israel no more because what these folks have done is commit genocide. They are doing that currently.
Brock Ganeles (31:19.307)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (31:48.777)
And they are not all Houthi rebels. Forget that.
Mark Hayes (31:52.929)
Exactly.
Brock Ganeles (31:53.898)
Mark, I don't know if Bobcraft is Jewish. I'll have to look that up. I don't know. I I just don't like from from
Mark Hayes (31:56.28)
Okay.
Herve Francois (31:57.014)
I don't know. I don't know either. And and and it doesn't matter. But but if if I'm a lover of human, like Mark, I'll just say I'm a lover of human like Mark. So if I'm a lover of human, I can love my Jewish brothers and sisters, but I can love my Palestinian brothers and sisters as well. No one has a monopoly on not having to be hated upon. Everyone should not have to be hated upon, regardless of your religion or your race.
Mark Hayes (31:59.095)
Okay. Right.
Mark Hayes (32:12.822)
Exactly.
Mark Hayes (32:21.036)
You know And you know what? Ervay, let me let me tell you about an experience I had in in Belfast, Ireland. We were on a tour with the tour guide of he was showing us some of the areas that were well known for the troubles. And I didn't know much about the troubles. And he was explaining we had seen the hotel that had was in the Guinness Book of World Records for being bombed, you know, the most times. And I was like, my god, there's a category for that.
Herve Francois (32:47.937)
Mm-hmm.
Mark Hayes (32:50.796)
That's pretty scary. but he you know what he told me? He said he could tell the difference between a Catholic and a Protestant. And I was like, well, I can't tell the difference between a Palestinian and maybe some Jews, or a Muslim, or right? Like, I I can't look at two people like Brock, you know, when our coach said, Hey, we got you know, three blacks and two Jews. I was like, who's Jewish?
Herve Francois (32:55.509)
What's that?
Herve Francois (33:07.017)
Right. Right.
Mark Hayes (33:20.91)
I I had no idea. So it's it's it's like w until we start looking at human beings as human beings, we're always gonna be dealing with this bullshit. You know, when we have the anti Asian hate crimes going on here after COVID, right? Like I mean that was all somebody's doing to get people worked up, you know, about they didn't know if they were Chinese, Japanese, d they didn't know what they were.
Herve Francois (33:23.391)
Right.
Herve Francois (33:50.367)
It the all that's the part.
Mark Hayes (33:50.669)
Right? All they knew is they wanted to kill some Asian people, say they ran into a so what is an Asian, you know, establishment? Because they sell Chinese food? Right? Like I I've been in Asian establishments where Spanish people are working. So yeah. Look.
Herve Francois (34:00.522)
It's 'cause they're
Herve Francois (34:05.865)
It doesn't because they don't it's cause they don't look like them. I see look, I circle back and I'm a little going on a tangent here, but I see it in our politics now. Any single time the media is interviewing a person of color that is talking up
We need to bring we need to lower health care costs. We need to lower educational costs. We need to go ahead and lower childcare costs. The first thing that reporter goes ahead and asks them, they don't say those are good ideas or anything else like that. Hey, where are you from? You must be a radical, you must be a leftist.
You you you you you must be a socialist. You must be a communist. Hold on. Why are you so quick to label me? All I'm talking about is lowering child care costs, health care costs, and educational costs. And all you want to do is turn this into a social war discussion about my race, about my geographic disposition.
Mark Hayes (34:53.591)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (35:16.543)
What why is that front and center when we're talking about doing something for the greater good? So when you talk about the when you talk about the the the the the sprouting, like who added water to the seeds of the Democratic Socialist Movement? It was the Republicans. You left the void. It was yours. You got the House, you got the Senate, you got the White House. In 18 months, that's all you had to do.
Work on lowering child care costs, educational costs, and health care costs. But you decided to go the other way. But you thought that when you did, it would bury those issues. No one would talk about it and it wouldn't affect anyone. But you wake up 18 months later and we're effing hurting. You have told us you don't want to deal with those issues. Fine that you don't want to deal with it. But by golly, somebody will.
Mark Hayes (35:57.688)
Right.
Mark Hayes (36:01.229)
Yep.
Herve Francois (36:14.995)
And somebody is. And the moment they bring it up, you say, my god, you must be a socialist, you must be a communist, you must be a radical. Well, no, I just want to help bring ideas on lowering educational, health care, and child care costs. You guys want to go to war. Have your war. But damn it, when the war is going on, when these terrorists are going on, child care.
Mark Hayes (36:20.936)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (36:43.819)
Healthcare, educational costs, they're not going down. Grocery costs, they're not going down. Gas costs, they're not going down. Nor the damnest freaking interest rate. None of this stuff is going down. Everything's going up to the right. And if I bring up one ideal solution to help bring it down, I'm a communist. Well, what what what what are we doing, bro? So I'm not I'm I'm I'm a capitalist if I'm for war, but I'm a communist if I talk about lowering
Mark Hayes (36:48.13)
Right.
Mark Hayes (36:56.077)
Right.
Herve Francois (37:12.435)
Any of those prices. Someone fills the void. You only have yourself to blame because you had the baton. You could have done anything you wanted. So now what you're gonna do? if we win again in in November, I'll give everybody five thousand dollars. Here's my question to you: why don't you give them five thousand dollars right now? They're hurting right now. They're hurting. What what
Mark Hayes (37:15.159)
Right.
Mark Hayes (37:32.318)
That's fine.
Right.
Yeah.
Lot of us are hurting. A lot of us are hurting.
Brock Ganeles (37:43.146)
We don't. I know you guys gotta I know you guys gotta hop. I got two quick hits there. Yes or no questions. Yes or no. Will we ever see Mitch McConnell again? Supposedly we sh was supposed to show up this week. A no for Mark Irve, yes or no? Mitch McConnell ever being seen again.
Herve Francois (37:45.537)
A lot of us are hurt.
Herve Francois (37:51.936)
All right.
Mark Hayes (37:52.013)
Go.
Mark Hayes (37:58.582)
No.
Herve Francois (37:59.906)
Cool.
really?
Mark Hayes (38:08.247)
No.
Herve Francois (38:08.289)
I think a s I think a sake bet is no. I I I don't know if this guy is. I don't I d I didn't know he was supposed to show up this week. So it's only Monday. Week is still early.
Brock Ganeles (38:10.793)
Well, okay.
Y Yes Yes or no questions. And this one may have to be a to be continued. Is Justin Herbert a better quarterback than Lamar Jackson?
Herve Francois (38:21.386)
Okay, I'd love to be continuous.
Mark Hayes (38:26.047)
Ha ha ha!
Herve Francois (38:27.199)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on. Why you gotta make a person? Come on.
Brock Ganeles (38:29.503)
You know that San Diego Chargers quarterback that's never won a playoff game that is ESPN has ranked ahead of Lamar Jackson. You know, I don't like the games anyway. I'm just curious.
Herve Francois (38:38.346)
I thought this
Mark Hayes (38:38.658)
Dan Orlovsky. Stop listening to Dan Orlovsky. That's a no.
Herve Francois (38:42.699)
I thought this was a I thought this was a Brock question. It's not a Brock question. This is this is ESPN shit. So you want me to respond to some BS poll that ESPN put up there? I'm not gonna do that. Because they got no justification or research to support freaking ranking Justin Herbert, who, by the way, has not ever won an MVP. Lamar Jackson has, and has never been to an AFC championship game in Lamar Jackson. So I I I I I don't know why they went there.
Mark Hayes (39:06.87)
Lamar Jackson has.
Herve Francois (39:10.589)
If anyone would like to pull the race card on that one, feel free, go ahead. I'll leave it alone. But I know what I see with my two eyes, and I know what the stats say. So it's it's not even a comparison. It's an apples and orange things. If you want to talk to me Right. You want to talk to me. You want to talk to me about Lamar versus Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes, I'll have that discussion with you all day long. But against Justin Herbert, come on, man. What are we doing? What are we doing?
Mark Hayes (39:23.478)
He's the great white hope, bro.
Brock Ganeles (39:38.019)
Maybe ESPN maybe ESPN maybe ESPN is running their own AI models and based upon their inputs, Justin Herbert comes out looking a little better. Just
Mark Hayes (39:38.656)
What are we doing?
Herve Francois (39:48.939)
Well th they they they they're gonna run out because you're gonna have more and more black quarterbacks out there. You got a Dak Prescott, you got a Caleb Williams, you got a Lamar Jackson, I mean they they they come they come
Mark Hayes (39:49.11)
Yeah.
Mark Hayes (39:57.451)
Well well Hervey, let's not forget about the white quarterbacks. If I'm Josh Allen and you're constantly talking about Justin Herbert, I'm What the fu I win playoff games. Okay? I've been close to the Super Bowl.
Herve Francois (40:07.275)
Well well is j I'm imagining Josh is ranked higher than Justin in this list.
Mark Hayes (40:12.43)
Yeah, but they never talk about him the way they talk about Justin Her they talk about Justin Herbert like he's that close to just breaking on through to the other side, to immortal greatness.
Herve Francois (40:22.625)
You you know you know how the sports world is. They are s they are always so desperate and on edge to give the baton, the award, the prize, the Super Bowl, MVP to somebody. They wanna the the anointed one kind of a thing. And they do it in every freaking sport. They do it over and over and over. Right now in college football, it's Archman.
And that's what we're gonna talk about on the next episode. What the heck with these dollgone college players want to go back to the the the NFL players want to go back to college? This is getting out control. It's getting out of control. If you miss your fifth year, your fifth year. You can't go for the damn practice.
Mark Hayes (40:55.948)
Tune in for that show. I'm here for it.
Brock Ganeles (40:58.135)
I wanna watch that show. I think the money's bigger for some of them in college. We've established that. But Ted but Ted Cruz doesn't like that. We know Ted Cruz doesn't like these guys getting paid. All right, those are my two quick hits. Thank you. I don't know if you had anything, Mark.
Mark Hayes (41:02.858)
Exactly.
Herve Francois (41:03.029)
Hell yeah. That's why they want to stay in the top.
Mark Hayes (41:06.786)
Yeah. No doubt.
Mark Hayes (41:12.864)
I got revolution. It shall not be fali.
Brock Ganeles (41:14.665)
Perfect. Thank you. Always a pleasure. We'll do it again soon.
Mark Hayes (41:18.126)
All right.
Herve Francois (41:19.669)
So much fun guys. Thank you. Brian, enjoy man. I hope you're winding down from your vacation. Feel bad.
Brock Ganeles (41:21.717)
Keep up the flight.
Brock Ganeles (41:26.124)
A week later. Still winding.
Mark Hayes (41:26.969)
Yeah.
Herve Francois (41:28.864)
Ha ha.
