Trump as Jesus Schtick Falls Flat, Vance Goes 0-for-2 and Swallwell Implodes: Bad Day for Bad Men
MARK HAYES (00:02.079)
Alright ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to another exciting edition of Two Minute Black and White, an honest conversation. Alright, let's get into it folks. It is the crazy, the craziest thing you have ever seen. First the guy posts a meme of himself as Jesus with healing hands, but somehow mistook that picture and that representation for his being a doctor. That came right out of his mouth, which is frightening.
Absolutely frightening the guy's office fucking rocker. He's a dimension-ridden fool and What are we doing? Just sitting here watching Brock and Ellis joins me from the beautiful city of New York, New York So nice they named it twice Brock, what say you on the crazy my friend 25th amendment or no, he's just fine
Brock Ganeles (00:51.802)
We won't get the 25th Amendment because his acolytes in the administration are like so deep in the Trump world and proximity to power that we're not going to get it from them. We're going to have to overpower them. I mean, yes, it's just more crazy, more idiocy. This time I think Trump understood that he stepped on a landmine.
MARK HAYES (01:02.766)
MARK HAYES (01:20.142)
Ugh.
Brock Ganeles (01:20.41)
with the religiosity and the pushback was so extreme by people who actually care about religion, unlike him who just fakes it. And he did a quick backpedal and just had a really shitty, stupid and almost childish explanation to try to weasel his way out of it. But that combined with the Pope deciding that he was gonna not be bullied,
MARK HAYES (01:43.969)
expectation of no-
Brock Ganeles (01:49.142)
and punch him in the nose right back. It was just another bad 24-48 hours for Trump where he just lost more credibility and I think some of his support peeled away, particularly those who are actually religious and care about the church and care about religious imagery.
MARK HAYES (01:49.325)
Right?
MARK HAYES (01:56.632)
Push.
MARK HAYES (02:05.291)
Right.
MARK HAYES (02:15.424)
Right, right, because there are lots of people out there that care about that, right? And it's not these neo-fascist, ultra-right Christian conservatives, right, who use religion as a pawn and a method to their madness, right, and who disguise their racism as religion. And Trump's finding that out the hard way. Now he looks like a
bigger fool than we've ever imagined. mean, Brock, when you come out and say, it appeared to me that I was a doctor, there was a Red Cross person there, a lot of Red Cross people, we support the Red Cross. Fuck you. The guy thinks he can bullshit his way out of anything. And it's getting worse. It's getting, when you start doing that shit, see, he's gotten away with this before.
you know, memes of himself, you know, all ripped and muscular, you know, posting these Superman memes of himself. Now people are starting to say, okay, there's gotta be some kind of consequence for this. This is a bridge too far. But when do we get, Brock, real soon, real soon, we're gonna be wishing for $4 gas.
Brock Ganeles (03:35.834)
Yeah, these will be the good old days when it was only you know for for 29 a gallon up where I am right? Yeah, the good old days when you could fill your tank for maybe 60 bucks instead of like 120 bucks I don't I mean strategically beyond the fact that he's obviously dementia ridden and had also just an absurd like stage dopey
MARK HAYES (03:37.632)
Right.
Alright.
MARK HAYES (03:46.83)
60 bucks. Right.
Brock Ganeles (04:00.376)
media event with that door dash woman talking about taxes on tips that was another nanny veered off into transgender athletes like that was another fucking 30 seconds I could barely sit through because the idiocy but even strategically so now because we can't really engineer a ceasefire and get our way out of this Iran war we're now gonna blockade the Strait of Hormuz so
Nobody's ships are going through whether they're oil tankers or not. So we're now we're just shutting down commerce and pissing off the Chinese. And now we're making this into a global conflict instead of a regional one. So I'm just seeing even an unraveling of any kind of foreign policy plan that.
that we might have that might even possibly make sense. You tell me, where's it going? Like, what's the end game? What do we think we're going to do? know, bleed Iran economically now?
MARK HAYES (04:59.232)
Right. Right.
Yeah, I mean, he's just making everything worse. And you see the connection between the crazy and the stupidity, right? Let's block off. Let's block off the street. All you're doing is hurting us. We know you don't buy gas, Trumpster, right? We're paying for your gas. We're paying for your jet fuel. You don't feel any of this, right? So he doesn't care, but we know he's fucking a nut job.
because we just saw him posting himself in the image of Jesus Christ. Jesus, take the wheel, fix it. I mean, at what point do we say this guy is nowhere near, he was never qualified to be president. Now he's mentally, too mentally unstable to be president. Like, when do we do, when is somebody gonna do something? Where is the fucking cavalry?
that's right. It's not coming.
Brock Ganeles (06:05.954)
politicians haven't budged the MAGA infrastructure and the MAGA megaphone has definitely cracked right there's more and more voices on the right that are pretty you know we talked two three days ago and we talked about Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones and MTG being really
much more aggressive, but that's now worked its way through Rogan and Theo Vaughn. And I see like S.E. Cup, who was making those Maga light like are just, it's a constant flow now. It's really gotten into the public consciousness that Trump is in mental decline, that he's not, you know, the unfit term is just being popping up everywhere, but it hasn't worked its way to the politicians who in this point in time,
MARK HAYES (06:43.619)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (07:02.68)
are the only ones that have the mechanism for change. I just argued there's no way we're going to have 25th Amendment because the administration won't budge. Impeachment is a much more likely outcome, but none of the Magistrate Republicans have turned tail yet, even though they know it's going to absolutely destroy them if there's anything in the semblance of a free and fair election in November.
MARK HAYES (07:10.253)
Right.
MARK HAYES (07:27.69)
Right, right. Well, we know he didn't win last time. So we know he can't, you know, have gained any stream. Uncollege educated whites, non educated, non college educated white voters. He's he's down what 20 points? Down 20. If he can't get that number up. That's where the blue the blue wave becomes a fucking tsunami.
Brock Ganeles (07:58.692)
Rural Georgia swung 30 points, right? That's the most recent data point. Rural MAGA MTG home base Georgia swung 30 points. I mean, I don't think there can't be more than 50 to 100 safe seats in the House for Republicans at this point in time, not with Trump in the low 30s on approval and declining, not improving, declining.
MARK HAYES (08:07.758)
30 points. Yep.
MARK HAYES (08:15.566)
Alright.
MARK HAYES (08:22.583)
Right.
Right? Right?
Brock Ganeles (08:27.224)
And as prices go up and more people get into desperate scenarios, more of them are gonna peel away from Trump. The more lunacy he throws out there and turns off even religious white people, that number even starts to trickle down. We could see him in the 20s. Within six weeks, we could see him in the 20s.
MARK HAYES (08:45.389)
yeah.
MARK HAYES (08:49.046)
Right, right. Well, how long until these gas prices shoot through the roof? Right with this blockade. I mean, this could be, you know what by the end of the week, we could be seeing these ridiculous prices, five, six dollars at the, I saw diesel prices. I told you last week up in the fives, right? So when those diesel prices go up, you know, people think it doesn't matter. yeah, it matters, right? Because that cost is being passed on to you.
right? Because it's now more expensive to get the goods to the market.
Brock Ganeles (09:22.692)
Yeah, the trucking. Everything's gonna pass along to us. Corporations are not gonna eat this. They ate tariffs. They're not eating energy costs also. They can't eat both and still make the kind of money they need to make, right? For their lavish lifestyle. So it's getting passed along to the consumer. The consumer doesn't have the money. Like we're in or going into recession. The question is how deep is it going to be and what's it gonna do to employment?
MARK HAYES (09:25.985)
Exactly.
No!
Right.
MARK HAYES (09:37.431)
Mm-hmm.
MARK HAYES (09:44.462)
You know.
MARK HAYES (09:50.787)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (09:52.704)
And you know, when people lose jobs, they get mad at whoever is sitting in that seat, right? Whoever's in office gets blamed when people lose jobs. And how are people not going to lose jobs? Companies are going to have to cut. mean, anecdotally, we're seeing it left and right. The data is still being manipulated. So I don't think what's going on in the ground is showing up in any data because they're not going to let that data get out there. If there's anything positive.
MARK HAYES (09:57.027)
Is there not? Yep.
MARK HAYES (10:14.722)
I know.
Brock Ganeles (10:21.698)
If we look to Hungary, the Hungarian people came out in droves and massively overwhelmed Viktor Orbán, the CPAC favorite, even after JD Vance ran over there and stumped for him. Guess that doesn't help. And they made a statement and they made such a loud statement that Orbán couldn't even call it a rigged election, fake news.
MARK HAYES (10:24.846)
I'm smokin'.
MARK HAYES (10:38.235)
You're working it.
Brock Ganeles (10:51.406)
He couldn't call a state of emergency, martial law. Like he kind of went quietly because if you just saw the videos, they were out there on the streets in droves ahead of the election and in celebration. And it just, it just kind of wiped away any chance at even disputing that election. It's encouraging. That's what we're going to need to be in November. Such overwhelming numbers that even
MARK HAYES (11:01.506)
They were deep in the streets.
MARK HAYES (11:12.131)
Yep.
Brock Ganeles (11:18.86)
Musk rats trying to get in there can't manipulate the data enough and trump can't stay rigged election because it's a two-thirds to 75 Overwhelming wipeout like you saw in hungary. We're gonna have to do that but
MARK HAYES (11:22.998)
Right.
MARK HAYES (11:30.816)
Right. Right. Right.
And we're going to have to have, you know, election, election monitors, right? To make sure that the data collected is accurate. You know, because there's no way a president in his twenties, right? Can win, especially when everybody down ballot loses. All right. There's no way, no fucking way. So, you know, we'll see what happens in the midterms. That'll be a clear, concise,
You know referendum on his toxicity and his fucking programs and his policy Because his toxicity is What's doing us in his his depravity? Is what's doing us in Brock? the guys a pedophile and a child freaking sex predator and that Compromont
is what's costing American peo- his criminal behavior is what's costing American people so much money.
Brock Ganeles (12:47.706)
can't believe there's not a single MAGA politician that's turned on Trump, kept their seat, is continuing to run. Not those that aren't running, retiring, or like MTG just ripcorded and then started criticizing. None of them have turned on Trump to try to save their own ass.
MARK HAYES (13:09.814)
Yeah, it's crazy, right?
Brock Ganeles (13:11.672)
I mean, it's just surprising that they're looking at the numbers and going, wait a second, the only chance I have of winning is if I disassociate myself from Trump.
They're still so afraid of him and of his base that they don't think that they can win if they do that. I don't know, with his numbers plummeting and his dementia getting so obvious to everyone, even the dumbest of the dumb Americans, I'm thinking there has to be a peel away.
MARK HAYES (13:46.562)
Gotta be.
Brock Ganeles (13:48.056)
So you know our good friend Mike Lawler in NY 17 or 19, whatever it is, our Westchester County, New York, did a town hall and they booed and heckled him throughout the entire event. It was in Mayapack, New York. For our listeners here, Mayapack is maybe the most racist town in all of Northern Westchester.
MARK HAYES (14:07.757)
Whoops!
Brock Ganeles (14:16.856)
Certainly wasn't weird growing up. Maybe it's changed a little over the years. That was the most racist place. And Lawler went there last night and got booed out of the room because he's still hanging. He's a quote, centrist, but he's still hanging on to Trump. And I think, why doesn't he have the calculus of going, you know what? I can win this district, but I got to throw Trump overboard. I
MARK HAYES (14:16.866)
It is.
MARK HAYES (14:20.288)
I don't think so.
MARK HAYES (14:34.114)
Yeah.
MARK HAYES (14:43.755)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (14:44.524)
I gotta go against Trump to win this, to have any chance of winning this district. And even he hasn't made that calculus yet. He can't even do a town hall in the most racist town in his entire district.
MARK HAYES (14:55.348)
Right. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. Yeah, may have packed. Wow. Hated going up there to play. Good lord. Anyway, yeah, the stupidity, you know, the lack of courage. It really is, you know, mind blowing and history is not going to remember any of these people fondly. Even on our side.
Brock Ganeles (15:02.714)
you
MARK HAYES (15:25.368)
Chuckles, Hakim, lack of leadership, the leadership vacuum is probably going to be written in stone as to how little these folks did. And speaking of that leadership, one of our leaders is, and one of the ultimate fighters for the Democratic Party, Eric Swalwell, now under fire. And you know the first chance Republicans get, they're going to try.
to use these sexual assault allegations against him to get him removed from Congress. Why? Because he's such a pain in the MAGA movement's ass. That's why they're coming after him. They don't want him running California. Right? They don't want him as the governor of, you know, one of the most progressive states out there. They want this fucking guy gone.
And they don't want him in Congress because he's a sure thing on the blue side and he's looking to hold people accountable. First of all, I'm going to tell you, I'm going to give you two names, Al Franken, Leanne Tweedon. Okay. We lost Al Franken never to see him again. There's some bullshit allegations from Leanne Tweedon, right? That was old. He didn't, he didn't assault her.
He cracked an out of context, unfunny joke to her. And she, because she was MAGA, went and had a senator removed from his seat and he did the right thing.
Really? Really? And we don't see anything squirrely about these allegations against Swalwell. I just want to say open your eyes, people. Open your eyes. Let's say you.
Brock Ganeles (17:28.654)
I'm going to take the other side on this one. I'm going to say adios Eric Swalwell and without having spent, mean, I've read it cursely, look at the allegations and the like. I think the telling factor on the Swalwell side is also that his, his advisors, his team resigned in co in support of the allegations.
That's a pretty quick rip cord by your closest people who are most incentivized for you to stay in that governor's race because that their job is to help you win and everyone, you know, things accrue to the winners. So if his team didn't already think, didn't think that these allegations were on on point, they would have stayed in the boat with them. So the fact that his closest advisors rip cord tells me not manipulated. I think
I believe where there's smoke, there's fire in this one. Usually there is Al Franken's case was the weakest of all of them and the most regrettable, but usually smoke, there's fire. I'm believing the women on this one. It actually think that it's a, in a flip side, that it's a positive for the democratic party that he's out of the gubernatorial race because there are too many candidates in there and they were splitting the vote and there was a chance.
MARK HAYES (18:56.898)
Yeah.
Brock Ganeles (18:57.454)
that it was going to be two Republicans at the top of the primary and no Democrat on the final ticket. So actually his 18 % or whatever he had is now going to go to Katie Porter or Steyer or Becerra. And it's more likely that there's going to be a Democrat that makes it through this open primary. So I don't think even the Republicans would benefit from manipulating this one. So I'm on an adios. Now, when it comes to the congressional seat, I'm seeing that there is
MARK HAYES (19:13.611)
Right.
Brock Ganeles (19:26.294)
sort of a rare agreement across the aisle and it might be a kick out Swalwell and kick out Tony Gonzalez, the guy in Texas who was, you know, having badgering his aid to the, you know, where she committed suicide and kind of do for a one for one and expel them both. So neither party, takes the partisanship out of it and just eliminating
MARK HAYES (19:38.126)
Hmm.
MARK HAYES (19:51.49)
Well.
Brock Ganeles (19:54.798)
to congresspeople that they think have crossed ethical lines.
MARK HAYES (19:58.625)
We got breaking news, Swalwell resigns. He announced his resignation.
Brock Ganeles (20:01.387)
MARK HAYES (20:04.866)
breaking news coming across the wire right now. Yep.
Brock Ganeles (20:05.016)
Right now, how about the timing of that? he?
Brock Ganeles (20:12.75)
Well, Mark, the other telling thing was how quickly he lost support from everybody, including the unions that had backed him and all that. So... that's...
MARK HAYES (20:18.733)
Yeah.
MARK HAYES (20:24.3)
Well, once the allegations came out, was a, I mean, he wasn't gonna recover from that. There was no way he was gonna recover. And listen, I wanna believe the women. I just don't put anything past this criminally run Republican juggernaut that will do anything to win.
Brock Ganeles (20:47.0)
Now, I'll grant you that. mean, things have to be checked and double checked and triple checked now because false flags, false allegations, you know, the made up story. Remember the made up story of sexual abuse by Biden from that woman who ended up being MAGA that like pulled something out from 20 years ago in the hallway. And it ended up vaporizing into a pack of lies. But it was in a
MARK HAYES (20:49.346)
Right?
MARK HAYES (20:57.634)
Right.
MARK HAYES (21:03.629)
Right?
MARK HAYES (21:07.447)
Right.
MARK HAYES (21:14.443)
into nothing.
Brock Ganeles (21:16.566)
Attempt I I get it. There's a lot of political shenanigans here but Well, swole didn't you know, he he tried he trees PR team tried he put out two different statements and None of them landed But I also want to be better than the Republicans I mean that the other thing I saw is like I mean this reminds it's the same argument people are like well Bill Clinton's in the Epstein files
MARK HAYES (21:25.155)
Peace.
MARK HAYES (21:30.796)
Yep, none of them landed. None of them landed, I mean.
MARK HAYES (21:38.328)
True that.
Brock Ganeles (21:44.974)
You know, Bill Clinton's is, you know, as bad as Trump and this and that. I'm like, well, all right, let's release all the files. And I'm not here to protect Bill Clinton. I don't give a fuck. There is no one that needs to be, in my mind, there's no one on the left that needs to be, deserves to be warrants being protected. If my beloved Elizabeth Warren did something illicit or immoral,
MARK HAYES (21:52.354)
Yeah, let's see what Bill did. I don't know.
MARK HAYES (22:07.567)
Nope.
MARK HAYES (22:12.206)
Yeah.
Brock Ganeles (22:13.914)
I'm throwing her off the boat. That's it. There's no sacred cows for me. Eric's wall will certainly wasn't him. You know what? He's fucking replaceable. And we don't and we have to have some moral. It's some moral stances, so I don't I haven't seen all the evidence. I haven't read all the stories. It seemed like there were a lot of them coming from a lot of corners. And like I said, when his own people. Jump ship right away.
MARK HAYES (22:23.489)
Right.
MARK HAYES (22:28.162)
We have to have some world standing.
MARK HAYES (22:40.91)
step.
Brock Ganeles (22:43.086)
that was that made me think that they believed the allegations because they weren't staying in the fight for him and if the allegations were false and his closest people jumped ship that's also something telling about the person that no one wanted to be in the foxhole with him either way
MARK HAYES (22:47.489)
Right.
MARK HAYES (22:58.432)
Right, right. You know, we only know, I only know Eric Swalwell from what I've seen on television and what I saw I really liked. know, definitely. Exactly.
Brock Ganeles (23:08.046)
Yeah, I like them as a politician. We don't know him personally. We don't know these people personally, right? Yeah, I like this dance. I liked his fight. He was one of those types of Democrats who would just go head to head and not cower and pretend like norms and all that other shit mattered. But if you're doing fucked up shit behind the scenes that we don't know about and it comes out, then you gotta go.
MARK HAYES (23:26.168)
Right.
MARK HAYES (23:32.588)
Yeah. And we've kept that stance consistent right here, two men in black and white. I mean, we've said that all along. If you do some fucked up shit, you got to pay. We don't give a shit what...
Brock Ganeles (23:44.739)
And I'm with you. Al Franken, Al Franken was a comedian who became a politician who had, yes, did some shit that was off color and, you know, maybe unfunny and probably sexist in his past. But it was it was not deserving of a push to resignation. I'm with you on the Al Franken. He was an unfortunate, you know, casualty of, you know, maybe, you know, a movement had gotten
MARK HAYES (23:48.664)
Right.
MARK HAYES (24:05.804)
Right. And again.
Brock Ganeles (24:14.711)
overly aggressive at that point.
MARK HAYES (24:17.142)
And Al Franken was a rising star. He was a pain in the Republicans' too, if you'll remember. Al Franken, yeah, he was not just some Yahoo! doing stand-up comedy. was a smart, intelligent, well-read, you know, prescient lawmaker. I mean, he was serious about what he was doing. And to see him, you know, taken down like that, if you will.
Brock Ganeles (24:19.866)
It's good.
Brock Ganeles (24:23.32)
Yeah, he's good. He's smart.
MARK HAYES (24:46.526)
was extremely bothersome. But, yeah, but swell well, swell well, you know, we'll see what happens to his career next. It's probably over. hard to come back from allegations like these, but you know, if it's true, too bad, right? Right.
Brock Ganeles (25:03.802)
Yeah, you can't be in public life. You can't be representing anyone. What constituents want to be represented by that except MAGA? We gotta be better than MAGA. I wanna hear about the what about-ism and any MAGA people are like, oh, swole, we can't have that. He's sexually abusing women, this and that. It's like, oh, but it's okay that your beloved dementia-ridden leader has 28 sexual assault allegations, has already been convicted of it.
MARK HAYES (25:11.914)
Right. Right. All day, every day.
Brock Ganeles (25:32.306)
And he's in the Epstein files in a pedophile ring, but you want to keep that under wraps so Come on yeah, then what about is him can't can't live with it
MARK HAYES (25:37.63)
Right, right. The what about is insane. All right, before we get out of here, what else do you have for me in the quick hit section?
Brock Ganeles (25:48.909)
Okay, beyond the fact that JD Vance not only lost the Iran negotiations with him and fucking Jared, right? Laurel and Hardy over there botching the ceasefire and Iran negotiations. Can you believe that was the team? But then Vance went to Hungary and probably cost Orban an extra 10 points. So I believe we have seen the beginning of the end.
MARK HAYES (25:53.102)
Kill the pub.
MARK HAYES (26:06.741)
Yeah, right.
Brock Ganeles (26:18.508)
of JD Vance's political career. I don't think there's any way, I don't think he has MAGA support and I don't think there's any way he's a candidate going forward in MAGA world. I think he's like sort of dead man walking who's still in the seat. So that's my thought on JD Vance. What do you got for me?
MARK HAYES (26:32.458)
at all. Yeah.
MARK HAYES (26:41.902)
Controlling the narrative. I oftentimes talk about how the media only wants to show the worst of the black and brown experience in all of America, quite frankly. And this weekend here in Atlanta, the Mecca of the civil rights movement, the home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and various other civil rights leaders, we had a scholarship event this weekend.
Roughly 12 to 15,000 people showed up at the Home Depot backyard. course, Arthur Blank, the owner of the Falcons, Atlanta United, he has a property there right next to the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Filled it up, filled it up. Nothing but black excellence for as far as you could see. From doctors, lawyers, dentists, pediatricians, accountants.
you name it. Members of our fraternity run the gamut. Other other members, notable members Shaq, Michael Jordan, Reverend Jesse Jackson, all members of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity incorporated. Steve Harvey, DL Hughley. Not one instance of negativity for the entire weekend. We have four days of parties and events raising scholarship money.
for African American education causes in college. Scholarship, fundraiser, music, laughter, good times, no gunshots, no news coverage.
I'm just saying, get a lot of other gatherings out there for lesser causes and we want to talk about those happenings. But the only time you want to come to something positive happen in the black or brown community is when there's violence. You know, they had 404 day here last weekend, right? Somebody got shot out at Piedmont Park, cameras everywhere. Cameras everywhere.
MARK HAYES (28:54.99)
Now, 404 day is a largely African-American experience. It's a celebration of the 404, the area code, and the culture. So when you look at the two instances, there probably wouldn't have been any media out there had there not been a shooting. Even though
This city turns out for 404 day like it's a real holiday. Like people go hard in the paint for 404 day. But you know, you get 12,000 of us gathered to raise scholarship money, right? To benefit our community and the community at large, right? You're only as good as your weakest link. No news coverage, nobody talking to us about what we're doing, why we're doing it, who...
who benefits and it was one of the topics of discussion, where people look around and they're excited to see all their black brothers and sisters gathered in a place dressed to the nines, looking good, feeling good about themselves and about the community. And one of the conversations I walked in on was,
Why don't we stick together like this all the time? Why can't we come together like this all the time?
Brock Ganeles (30:27.126)
Why isn't there okay? I'll ask the white guy question. So why isn't there a media in Atlanta? Atlanta is a very black dominated city, right? Why isn't there a media in Atlanta that has an audience or thinks they have the audience that wants to see positive stories? Not just like, know, I was actually going to make a joke. you want to get the media there? Somebody should have shot someone. But then you said that that had happened the week before. So why? Why?
MARK HAYES (30:50.23)
Right? Yes!
Brock Ganeles (30:55.352)
Why wouldn't the media in Atlanta want to cover it because they think that's going to draw eyeballs and be good for business? Do they not believe that? Or do they not control what gets shown?
MARK HAYES (31:03.31)
no.
MARK HAYES (31:08.076)
Yeah, they look, it's very expensive to get a media station up and running, right? And then you got to get, you got to get on a platform. You got to get on Comcast or you got to get on AT &T. It's next to impossible. Ask Byron Allen, right? How difficult it is to win those cases. Now he's done it because he's got an amazing team of lawyers and he's been able to get, you know, some of his broadcasts, but like the weather channel is not.
you black centric weather affects everybody impacts everybody. Right. But because it was owned by him, you know, he's had issues getting some of his other, you know, media properties on these platforms. And if you can't, if you can't get eyeballs on your product, you can't sell advertising. If you can't sell advertising, you can't win. And if you can't win, you're not on, you know, TV very long. So
You know, it's very expensive. It's very difficult. People see it as daunting. You know, especially people with lots of money to invest. So, you know, and then as for local media, you would think, you know, a city like Atlanta would be very, very excited, you know, to cover the positive aspects of, you know, the city of Atlanta. And, you know,
For some reason, we, you know, even when I was working on TV here, you know, we put the craziest looking people on TV. We put the crazy, you know, it's like you get out to the shooting scene and, you know, the craziest person that's willing to go on TV, we put them on TV, got curlers in their hair, you know, got they bonnet on, in their pajamas. I saw the hollshit.
Brock Ganeles (32:59.066)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
MARK HAYES (33:00.212)
and she goes on TV or he goes on TV talking crazy. And, you know, it's, it's, it really is frustrating, you know, from a black man perspective, you know, from a fraternal perspective, you know, and, and we have people, know, DL Hughley, Steve Harvey, they're doing so many things behind the scenes, Shaq for young people.
you know, that just don't get highlighted. And, you know, and, it, the narrative, right, is what leads us to the lack of understanding, right? Because, you know, people who live, you know, upstate New York, they don't ever see anything positive about the black and brown experience in the five boroughs, right? All they see is, you know, the Central Park Five.
There's there I guarantee you there are people walking around who never knew the Central Park five were exonerated Never knew it right because they that's just not this that's not their wheelhouse and They wouldn't care enough to follow the story to see you know if those kids were actually involved Yeah, yeah, so you know there I'm off my soapbox
Brock Ganeles (34:14.57)
If justice was served.
Brock Ganeles (34:20.238)
Alright, well we're gonna do our part to change that. Anyone listening? Because it takes thinking about it, right? It takes an awareness first, then an action, right? But it starts with an awareness of what you're being fed. And then the question is, am I gonna continue to eat this dog food I'm being fed, or am I gonna avert my eyeballs and go somewhere else and find something?
MARK HAYES (34:24.44)
Absolutely.
MARK HAYES (34:29.687)
Right.
MARK HAYES (34:49.25)
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Brock Ganeles (34:50.382)
different and better and more diverse.
MARK HAYES (34:55.16)
So, you know, we've got to diversify our viewing habits, right? We've got to get into other silos, for lack of a better term, to find out what's going on. You know, and every time we mentioned JD Vance, I'll bring it up again, but that fucking book he wrote, you know, Hillbilly Elegy and the movie.
Brock Ganeles (34:55.97)
choice. The choice, right? All these things are your choice.
MARK HAYES (35:22.658)
you know, come to find out it's all a bunch of bullshit. Like you can't believe anything these people say, right? I mean, they're fucking nuts. And I was like, what is going on? Cause I was living in Cincinnati at the time and I'm thinking to myself, okay, Middletown is right. was taking my kids to get their haircut in, in a Middletown. I'm like, that's right around the corner for me. And I was like, okay, let me check this out and see what the hell's going on. Come to find out it's all bullshit. You know?
Brock Ganeles (35:25.028)
Fraud. Yeah.
MARK HAYES (35:52.8)
I mean, just for the guy to make some fucking movie. Make some money on a movie. So, you know, it is what it is.
Brock Ganeles (35:58.573)
and build his narrative as like sort of a man of the people and sort of as a populism, And up in, you know, huge success story. he's a fraud. And we got in a position of any influence, right? He ended up becoming what? know, Peter Thiel's puppet. So he went and migrated to the billionaires.
MARK HAYES (36:05.421)
Right.
MARK HAYES (36:17.995)
Right. Yep.
Yep. And yes Santana, Santana Raymond ran for office. He did not win. Youssef Hawkins ran and won.
Brock Ganeles (36:29.306)
He's in New York City government. Not the state. think he's in New York City government. We'll have to look up to get the facts on that. But he did run and win.
MARK HAYES (36:33.996)
Yeah. New York City government.
MARK HAYES (36:41.036)
Yeah, yeah. And good for them. mean, you know, and there's no amount of money that you can pay them that takes away the horrific abuse they suffered. I don't know if you watch the Netflix special, but being familiar with prison life, it could not have been fun for them because they had targets on their back from the guards.
Brock Ganeles (36:45.018)
It's a crazy success story.
MARK HAYES (37:09.39)
and from other prisoners the moment, you know, they stepped into custody. So, yes, yes. Yes.
Brock Ganeles (37:15.354)
Yeah, because they're viewed as predators, right? a white woman. Look, it gets you to thinking about the trauma that we're inflicting on all these tens of thousands of people that are in these concentration camps right now in these abhorrent situations. an amount of kids that are in there that talk about being scarred for life, right? This is the childhood that they're having. It's like even maybe even like next level.
MARK HAYES (37:31.915)
insane.
MARK HAYES (37:40.258)
Yes. Right.
Brock Ganeles (37:45.498)
you know, mental damage that we're inflicting and the country, we've stopped talking about it, right? Ice, because of the Iran fucking fiasco, we're not even barely ever even talking anymore about all these people that we have in detention centers in horrendous conditions for no fucking reason. We don't have, it's a political game that's being played and lost by Trump, but there's lives being, you know.
Damaged and destroyed
MARK HAYES (38:16.5)
Left and right. Left and right. Yeah, bro. All right, my friend. Let's rack it up and do it again tomorrow. Yes, sir. Revolution.
Brock Ganeles (38:20.378)
frustrating.
Brock Ganeles (38:25.466)
All right, Mark, always a pleasure. Talk to you tomorrow.
Brock Ganeles (38:30.948)
Peace.
